What to order?

We have many print options and love to customize based on your vision. However we do get a lot of questions about final product. "What's the difference between canvas and acrylic?", "How does an acrylic image look when it's mounted on the wall?", etc. So we've got some photos to help you get a clearer idea of what your image could look like.

Acrylic: A glass looking finish. Image bleeds right to the edge and the colors really pop. Great for high contrast images. See below:

Canvas: More of a traditional print option. Great for fine art pieces and allows the image to wrap around the edges. See below:

Johnston Canyon photos

We are very blessed to live where we do in a safe free country where we are surrounded with incredible people and such awesome natural beauty.

I shot these with my Phase One while hiking at Johnston Canyon in Banff. What a great day
my love of photography started with nature photography and I now spend the majority of my time photographing people so it is very rare that I get the chance to go out and just look around at the beauty we have here in Canada. I was reminded why I was drawn to what I am so lucky to do for a living. I got into the purity of purpose of photography.

a working studio

I have not put many posts on the blog lately but we have ben busy at our studio shooting many commercial assignments, business portraits, babies ,families, boudoir. and Oh Ya A destination wedding.

May is the month that our weddings kick in to high gear. here is a small sample of some of the types of assignments I have had in the past few weeks.

commercial photography in calgary

it has been a very busy month in November I have been shooting a ton of portraits and commercial work. corporate industrial and branding identity photography. on was for the Gretzky Wines brand. it was Super cool to have the great one for a half an hour. after the photo shoot we went into the main room where all of the special guests were. Before Wayne got there most of these people were sophisticated wine connoisseurs then when he came in most of the men reverted to little kids whipping out jerseys Hockey sticks and souvenirs that most had had for 20 years or so. it was a truly memorable moment. it made me realize how much of a canadian Icon Wayne Gretzky is and how he has impacted the culture of our country. oh ya I tried several of the wines and everyone I tried was really yummy and easy to drink.

Calgary Wedding photographer

I was thinking Back for the year and some of the highlights it has been a great year. It started with an Article I was featured in for Phaseone (click on photo for link to the article.)phaseoneperrypage1.jpg

Then I attended the DWF convention in Tampa which was one of the best things I have done in Many years. I was flat kind of growing but I felt I did not have the competative edge I used to, I have had been to a convention since 1991 I used to feel like I did not fit in with where the wedding and portrait industry was so I chose to look towards commercial fine art and fashion for my influence and I guess I still do. what I a realized when I went to dwf ( which Dave Quinn from D.Q. studios recommened to me) was that there was community of like minded people sharing concepts and a vision and are feeding each other. I reallly was and am inspired. I think I have got some of my best images ever in the past year.
I have met some really cool people in my travels from Yervant to Joe Buissink to Markus bell to  my friend James Day   and many more awesome photographers.
It find it really remarkable tat I have now been a photographer for 23 years and am more excited and inspired than ever before.
